Product care
Taking proper care of your Rukka garment is the key to a long partnership and lasting comfort. Equipment left dirty or not stored properly will degrade faster, so paying attention to the care instructions will almost certainly pay off.
When you get back from a ride, try to rinse or brush away as much of the dust and dirt as you can while it is still fresh and hasn’t settled in. Dry and store your garments away from direct heat sources like radiators.
Regular washing or cleaning of a garment is essential to maintaining the functional qualities. Read on for general guidelines for different product types, but remember to always check your product’s individual care instructions.

Textile jackets and trousers
Washing your garment regularly ensures that you receive the optimum performance out of it. The frequency will depend upon your personal usage and mileage. Follow the individual garment care instructions fully.

Textile jackets and trousers care instructions
Remove all protectors before washing. Close any zippers and Velcro bands completely, and fasten all flaps and straps. Wash separately inside out. Machine wash at 30-40 °C using the delicate cycle with only a small amount of liquid detergent. Do not use powder detergents, fabric conditioners, stain removers, or bleach.
Note the individual care labels for detachable liners in the products.

GORE-TEX products care instructions
GORE-TEX membranes are durably waterproof and do not require special maintenance to keep water out.
However, the water-repellent treatment of the outer fabric will wear out over time, which allows rain to wet it out, making the garment heavier and less breathable. Reproofing your GORE-TEX product keeps the water-repellent treatment active and enhances comfort. See further instructions at www.gore-tex.com.
The microscopic pores of the membrane that allow moisture to escape outwards can get clogged with dirt or oils, compromising the garment’s breathability. Make sure to keep your garment clean according to the care label instructions for optimal performance.
