Luhta x Juulia Turkkila & Matthias Versluis – Together on and off the ice
When Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis step onto the ice, years of work come together in just a few minutes. Behind every seemingly effortless movement are countless hours of training and the determination to keep working towards the next goal.
Turkkila and Versluis have brought Finnish ice dance back to the international stage. In 2023, they won Finland’s first European Championship medal in ice dance since Susanna Rahkamo and Petri Kokko in 1995. Having competed at the Olympic Games and placed among the top ten at the World Championships, the pair are known not only for their technical skill, but also for their expressive performances and distinctive style. Luhta is proud to be part of their journey beyond the competition ice.
Alongside its partnership with the Finnish Figure Skating Association, Luhta is also a personal partner of Juulia and Matthias.

More than the competition performance
In ice dance, two skaters move as one. It takes trust, precision and an instinctive understanding of each other’s movement. Juulia and Matthias have built their career together over the years, step by step, towards the highest level of the sport. The connection we see in competition is the result of countless movements practised together and years of shared experience on the ice.
Juulia & Matthias – off the ice
Away from competition, life is a mix of training, travelling and time off. This is where Luhta becomes part of their everyday lives, with clothing that combines freedom of movement, functionality and style.
As experienced elite athletes, Juulia and Matthias also understand the importance of recovery. While much of their everyday life revolves around training, both on and off the ice, they aim to keep their weekends free whenever training camps and competitions allow.

Looking ahead
Finnish audiences have followed Juulia and Matthias on their journey for years, as they have taken Finnish ice dance to some of the world’s biggest arenas. And the journey continues, from one training session and competition to the next, with new goals and new moments on the ice still ahead.
Luhta is part of the journey.
